5 Step Process
Proposal
|
|
The first step in any selection assignment is to gain a full grasp of the client's
requirements. Following an in-depth discussion, MSSL submit to the client a detailed
proposal which outlines our understanding of the role to be filled and its context
within the organisation, our recommended approach to the assignment, projected
timescales, fees and terms of business.
|
| |
Brief
|
|
When the proposal has been approved, an Assignment Brief for the appointment
is prepared. This details the main job objectives and responsibilities, and the
personal requirements in terms of functional competencies, managerial capabilities
and qualifications required to carry out the role. It also outlines the organisation's
structure, style and culture.
|
| |
Method
|
|
MSSL handle assignments by executive search or selection through advertising:
Executive Search systematically targets the likely sources and identifies potential
candidates, many of whom may not be actively seeking a career move. Search is
particularly relevant for very senior or specialist appointments. Our research
resources, database and in depth knowledge of the market, ensure a thorough, discreet
and effective search.
Selection though advertising reaches a wide audience, already 'in the market'.
MSSL produce creative, informative and well targeted adverts and advise on appropriate
media. We encourage response by email and process all applications speedily and
courteously.

Assessment
|
|
Appropriately qualified and experienced candidates are assessed by structured
interview, covering functional competencies, managerial capabilities and strategic
awareness. This process is complemented by psychometric profiling to evaluate
personality and team role aspects. The shortlist submitted generally comprises
3-5 candidates. A full CV and detailed interview report is submitted for each
candidate.

Appointment

At this stage we can advise on an appropriate offer package and follow up references.
Several clients use an assessment centre process for final selection and, if requested,
we are delighted to participate.
